Best-selling author and former Member of Parliament, Lord Jeffrey Archer is one of the UK's best-known personalities. As a former politician, Lord Jeffrey Archer is an adept orator and after-dinner speaker.

He was born in London and educated at Oxford, where he gained an athletics blue and was President of the University Athletics Club. Jeffrey went on to run the 100 yards in 9.6 seconds for Great Britain in 1966.

After leaving Oxford he was elected to the GLC in 1966, and three years later at the age of 29, he was elected a Member of Parliament for Louth. After five years, he resigned from the House of Commons, and wrote his first novel Not A Penny More Not A Penny Less.

Writer of several bestselling novels, plays, screenplays and children’s books, Jeffrey is talented in all kinds of different fields. His work has been translated into many different languages and have sold globally.

Jeffrey Archer is the former Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, and was made a Life Peer in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List of 1992.  His skill set also extends to being an amateur charity auctioneer.

In 2001, Jeffrey was sentenced to four years in prison for perjury.  He served two years, and was released on 21 July 2003.  He has since published three volumes of his Prison Diary to great success and has completed a great deal of charity work.

Jeffrey's latest novel, Heads You Win, was published in 2018.
