Tanya Beckett: Awards Hosts & Presenters

As a conference facilitator and awards host, Tanya Beckett enlightens her business audiences with content that is both informative and accessible; a BBC veteran and former investment banker, Tanya delivers her in-depth knowledge of sales and finance with humour and clarity.

A business and general news presenter for the BBC, the banker turned broadcaster Tanya Beckett calls upon her in-depth knowledge of  finance  and sales as an excellent  conference facilitator  and awards host .

Tanya’s career with the BBC launched in the early 2000s as the former  business  presenter on BBC One's Breakfast, and the erstwhile World Business Report presenter for The World Today. She has also presented and reported for BBC Two's Working Lunch, BBC News 24 and BBC World.

Before joining the BBC, Tanya worked for various broadcasters including: NBC Europe and CNBC Europe, where she presented The Moneywheel and FT Business Tonight; Sky News as presenter of its live nightly business news programme; CNN International, reporting from the London International Financial Futures Exchange; and for News Direct Radio.

Whilst with NBC Europe, she presented a 30-minute chat show with guests from the worlds of politics, show business and the arts, including Chaim Herzog, Salman Rushdie, Ian Smith and Eddie Izzard.  She also had a two-and-a-half-year spell in New York where she presented daily business and news programmes.

Tanya’s education saw her frequent the library of Pembroke College, Cambridge where she gained a degree in Metallurgy and the Science of Materials and a blue in fencing; as well as her other sporting hobbies of tennis and long distance running, Tanya can speak both German and French, and has dabbled in theatre acting and directing.

After leaving university, she drew on her engineering background while working for Courtaulds in Coventry, researching the properties of carbon and glass fibres. Following this, she moved to become an investment banker for Commerzbank in Frankfurt and Citibank in London.

Tanya’s presence truly brings an event to life as she swiftly establishes a rapport with audiences and adapts to the formula of the day.
