Dermot Murnaghan is one of the best known newscasters in Britain. He made his name through presenting the Breakfast show on BBC1 for five years and hosting the quiz show Eggheads. Since 2007 he has been the face of Sky News.

In 2000 Dermot won the prestigious Newscaster of the Year award from the Television & Radio Industries Club (TRIC), a highly prestigious industry achievement. Dermot’s incisive interviewing style has been recognised by a number of awards, including the Royal Television Society’s Interviewer of The Year Award in 1999 for his interview with Peter Mandelson, which resulted in the latter’s resignation from the Cabinet.

The presenter has reported live from war zones around the world and broke the news to the nation about the sudden death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
