In the ‘80s, Mike co-founded The Instruction Set and turned it into Europe’s leading open systems consultancy and training business, prior to selling the company to Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in 1989. In the ‘90s, he worked with 17 start-ups, two of which, RiverSoft and Micromuse, later went public.

In 2002 he co-authored numerous best-selling books on entrepreneurship and growing businesses -‘The Beermat Entrepreneur’, ‘The Boardroom Entrepreneur’ (about entrepreneurship), ‘Sales on a Beermat’, and ‘Finance on a Beermat’.

Mike is also a very experienced conference moderator and facilitator, having interviewed over 100 people on stage -including Sir Richard Branson for his new book Screw Business As Usual.

Mike is proud to be Ambassador for the Federation of Small Businesses and Entrepreneur in Residence for the City of Liverpool.
